The
Society for Biotechnologists (India) is
an association of eminent Biotechnologists,
Students, Academicians, Doctors, Industrialists
and Professionals working in relation with
Biotechnology. It is dedicated to the advancement
of Biotechnology, specifically to unite
Scientists, Academicians, Clinicians, Industrialists
and Students.
SBTI
serves as liaison between the various specialized
fields of theoretical and applied Biotechnology.
It promotes the exchange of scientific information
through workshops, meetings and publications,
in such areas as Recombinant DNA technology,
Neuroscience, Cancer Biology, Industrial
Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Medical
Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Aquatic
Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Bioprocess
Technology, Stem cell research and Nanotechnology.
With
a membership of 1151, SBTI maintains an
atmosphere of friendliness and cordiality
that is evident at the annual meetings and
special conferences. The Society was formed
and registered in 1995 (Registration No.
ER. 57/95) and it functions as a nonprofit
organization. The Society maintains its
national headquarters in Department of Biotechnology,
Cochin University of Science and Technology,
Cochin-682 022, Kerala, India.
